HDS Retail North America secures license agreement with USA TODAY

HDS Retail North America is pleased to announce that is has entered into a license agreement to develop and operate an airport retail concept themed around the USA TODAY brand. Called the USA TODAY TRAVEL ZONE , the concept will become available in the coming weeks to be introduced into airport concessions programs.

 

Since its launch in 1982, USA TODAY has grown to become the number one selling newspaper in America and is now the preferred choice of travelers.1 Jean-Baptiste Morin, President and Chief Executive Officer of HDS Retail said, “With their innovative use of color and graphics, USA TODAY has changed the way travelers view information. USA TODAY is entertaining, user-friendly and offers away-from home familiarity. Those key attributes of the brand will serve as inspiration for the development of USA TODAY TRAVEL ZONE.

 

Various hallmarks of the brand, such as the color-coded sections of News, Money, Sports, and Life, as well as the Snapshots ® are expected to be incorporated in the concept to make it attractive and memorable. This concept will be developed with the industry's best in materials and finishes, and will cater to the traveling public by offering an assortment of reading materials, sundries, travel accessories, and other convenience-related items such as grab and go snacks and coffee where appropriate.
