HDS Retail North America is pleased to announce that the Department of Aviation at Las Vegas-McCarran International Airport has received approval from the Board of County Commissioners on May 1, 2007 to negotiate a lease agreement with RELAY-Ayala’s at McCarran, LLC for a News & Gift store.

RELAY-Ayala’s at McCarran, LLC, a partnership between Ayala’s, Inc. and HDS Retail, submitted the successful proposal earlier this year as part of a Request for Proposal to operate a News & Gift store at Las Vegas-McCarran International Airport. Located right after the new security checkpoint into the C Gates currently being implemented, the store will operate under the RELAY brand and will be well positioned to become the preferred shopping option for the near 7 million passengers that depart each year from Las Vegas on Southwest Airlines.

RELAY at Las Vegas-McCarran will benefit from state-of-the-art design, materials and finishes as the concept was recently completely redesigned by HDS Retail. The store will also incorporate significant architectural features to provide a sense of place about the city of Las Vegas and the surrounding area. “This opportunity comes at a perfect time for us within our development strategy” said Jean-Baptiste Morin, President & CEO of HDS Retail North America. “Our brand new RELAY stores are performing extremely well in Toronto-Pearson and we are about to launch the new design in JFK Terminal 3, Montreal-Trudeau and in the West Chevron expansion at Vancouver International Airport. RELAY at Las Vegas-McCarran is expected to open in the first quarter of 2008, pending ratification of a lease agreement with the Department of Aviation of Clark County.
